Who Was Good This X-mas?

When Inter decided to transfer Zlatan Ibrahimovic for Samuel Eto’o many Serie A fans were left scratching their head.  Why would the Italian powerhouse do such a thing?   Was it not Ibrahimovic who led the league in scoring just one year ago?  And was it not Ibrahimovic who had won a league title in over half of his year’s in the Italian league?  And was it not Ibrahimovic who scored more goals then any other Serie A player in the last five years?

But despite the answer to all these question being YES, Inter decided to grant the Swedish striker his final wish and dealt him to Barcelona for Samuel Eto’o.  At the time of the transfer most people thought Inter had taken a slight hit in the offensive production department.  Many claim that Ibs is simply the best and Eto’o, although great, cannot compare to the Swede.  Well when all of this was unraveling, Inter decided to make the best move that they made all off-season.

The signing of Diego Milito not only was critical because it gave Inter that second striker that they needed, but I would go as far as to say that it was the best move by any top level squad in any league.  Although Kaka, Ronaldo, Ibrahimovic, Eto’o, and Alonso may be bigger names then Milito was heading into the year, the Argentine forward is flat-out one of the best goal scorers in the league.  Inter is still the number one offense in Italy and this time around they no longer have to rely on just one guy to make it that way.  Milito and Eto’o are the best tandem in the league and landing the two stars wins my vote for best early X-mas gift by any Serie A club.
