Last weekend Real Madrid could not have asked for any better of a match-up then the one on their schedule. Newly promoted Spanish club Levante had allowed 10 goals in 4 matches and experienced the worst total defensive numbers of any La Liga squad over that run. But Real Madrid could not manage to score a single goal against the unknown new boys.
And Jose Mourinho has expressed his desire for one more striker often early in the season and it appears that the Special One was exactly right on that hope. Real Madrid’s offense has yet to wow this season and through five games the club only has scored six goals and the club has also yet to score more then 2 goals in any game this year.
And Mourinho also did claim that he is “no Harry Potter” a few weeks back and the treble winning coach is fully aware that his side is still adjusting to the changes he has put in place, but the start has to be worrisome for the ambitious coach considering Real Madrid are supposed to contain one of the most potent offenses in the world. Of course Inter last season was renowned for their defense and the majority of schemes used today by managers are more defensive in design, but whatever the problem is for Real Madrid it needs to be resolved this January when the transfer window opens backup. Because at the moment Los Blancos only have one player that has scored more then one goal this season.
