Manchester City’s Togolese striker Emmanuel Adebayor might be forced to leave Eastlands after only one season. With Balotelli and Robinho expected to be joining the Citizens this week and Carlos Tevez’s impending transfer hitting a snag, it is very likely that Ade will fall down the pecking order once the season starts.
City have also said that if a permanent deal can be arrived at with either AC Milan or Juventus, then they are willing to allow their 25 million Pound signing to leave this despite assurance from coach Roberto Mancini that he will play if he stays with City.
City currently have 38 players in their squad and in order to comply with Premier League regulations, they will have to cut it down to 25-the maximum number allowed by the EPL.
Adebayor was consistently linked with a move to the Serie A last summer before he opted to remain in the EPL with City. The lanky striker scored 14 goals last season with his most famous or infamous one being against former club Arsenal in their 4-2 win.
Adebayor incensed the Arsenal fans after he run the length of the pitch to celebrate in front of them. This and his foul play against former team mate turned enemy Robin Van Persie made him one of the most hated EPL players.
However, things seem to have taken an unexpected turn for the 26 year old. With the arrival of new players in City, Adebayor is facing stiff competition for a starting position. His agent is already scouring Europe for potential employers however,Ade’s hug wage demands are making it hard for him to land any decent offers.
His 130,000 Pounds wage per week means that only a loan deal is the only probable option and to be honest, i do not think that either Juventus or Milan will be able to afford his services.
Strapped for cash, the two Serie A giants gave up on yet another equally talented player (Edin Dzeko) after being priced out. French Ligue 1 club Olympique Marseille are however said to have tabled an offer.
