Victor Valdes Acknowledge Milan Strenght, Remain Optimistic in the League

Ahead of Barcelona’s clash against Ac Milan, the Catalan’s goal keeper, Victor Valdes once again warned his teammates not to take the game lightly, despite their success in beating the Italian champion 3-2 in previous group stage meeting.

Valdes said that Milan remain a dangerous opponent as they can always surprise Barca, although the keeper believes that his side have the qualities to once again overcome the Italian giant.

Valdes is also relieved that they arrived at Milan during a positive run, which means that the team is mentally ready to face a tough challenge from a quality team such as the Rossoneri. Obviously facing a strong opponent during a positive period would give more chance for the Spaniard to pick up positive result despite playing away in such a tough stadium.

“Milan are always a very dangerous team. We saw that in the group stage. They are a great team with great history. A tie against Milan, who are one of the biggest sides in Europe, will be difficult. But it is coming at a good time for us and it is vital that we try to play our usual game,” Valdes stated.

Aside from talking about their upcoming Champions League tie, Barca’s goalie also revealed that his side is still taking the La Liga in a serious manner, despite there’s still a six point gap with current leader, Real Madrid. Although still considering that there chance is slim, Valdes believes that there might be a chance for Barcelona especially if they keep on winning their league matches until the end, and Madrid made another mistake.

“The press has been saying that the league was impossible for us but the message has always been the same on our part: never give up. However, the six-point gap is still substantial. Only time and the games will decide if the deficit is reduced. We have no choice but to win every game and wait to see what happens,” Valdes added. “When we were 10 points behind we did not change our approach, and now that we’re six behind, we will not do so either,” the Spain international explained. We have to compete against each and every opponent and just try to collect the three points.
