Valencia – Real Betis Preview

With both clubs pushing for 2009 European spots, Valenica and Real Betis face off in a crucial La Liga battle.

Real Betis coach Paco Chaparro has guided the outfit to 8th in the table.  The club is paced by Achille Emana who has 4 La Liga goals as well as 2 assists.

Valencia is paced by superstar David Villaand his 11 league goals.  Villa also has two assists.  He continues to be a magnet for transfer speculation with global powers Manchester United and Real Madrid heading the list.

While Valencia is seeking a three points, Betis will be happy with the tie.  Just five Real Betis squads have ever won at Valencia’s Mestalla, with the last coming more than 20 years ago. Betis’ Chapparo is well aware of the task at hand.

He noted to the media, “It will be a difficult game, because they have great players and are a great team. It`s difficult in Valencia in general.”

He added, “I`m not worried about statistics. We have not won there in 23 years because they have always been better, but this year we are more equal.”

Prediction:

Valencia’s class is too much for the resurgent Real Betis side.  Valencia over Real Betis 3-1.
