Update: Barcelona defender, Gabriel Milito, out for 2 weeks

Some upsetting news for Gabriel Milito as the Barcelona defender will be missing 2 weeks of action after picking up a hamstring injury during training.

With the Spanish champions looking to take on Copenhagen in some UEFA Champions League action, medical tests ruled out Milito as he will be watching from the stands in Camp Nou. The news was reported from El Mundo Deportivo as they went on to state that Milito will be ruled out of the next 3 upcoming matches.

A solid replacement for Carlos Puyol, Barcelona will now need to look elsewhere to find a solid centre-defender.

Pep Guardiola has been suspect of many injuries thus far this season but the Spanish champions are still standing tough as they are on the top of the La Liga table. Although Real Madrid lead the table with 17 points, Barcelona were able to pull right behind them as they now join Valencia just 1 point behind Los Blancos.

Think that Milito will be the answer to Puyol’s departure? Will Barcelona finish champions in the league again or will Madrid redeem the title? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments section below.
