Uncertain Sneijder Still Hoping For Inter Stay

Quel simpaticone di WesleyThe future of Inter Milan’s star Wesley Sneijder gets a bit uncertain this summer as rumors linking him with a move away from San Siro gets bigger after the Italian media reported that Manchester United are set to start the talks with the Nerazzurri soon.

Sneijder himself still cant confirmed whether he would stay or not with the Italian giant although in his latest statement, the player does admit that he is keen to keep playing with Inter next summer.

However, although he is still keen on staying, Sneijder acknowledged that anything can happen in football this days and should the Nerazzurri opted to accept other clubs’ offer, than he wouldn’t mind leaving. The Dutchman admitted that he would actually be disappointed should he must leave the club since the ex-Real Madrid man has already enjoyed staying at Milan and also playing for Inter, which he helped to win the treble two seasons ago.

“If the club decides to sell me then I’ll go, but it would be disappointing. I’d miss the city of Milan and also Inter. However, football is like this. When I was sold to Inter I would have preferred to stay in Spain with Real Madrid. But in 10 minutes everything changed,” Sneijder said.

Earlier this season, Inter’s new coach, Gian Piero Gasperini, also failed to convince the fans that Sneijder will not be leaving the Nerazzurri as Gasperini stated that although he would like the Dutch international to stay but anything can happen in the market. Rumors stated that Sneijder’s characteristic might not really fit well with the ex-Genoa’s coach future tactic, especially if the tactician decided to deploy his classic 3-4-3 system that usually doesn’t use a playmaker/trequartista such as the ex-Ajax Amsterdam player.

Being an important actor in Inter’s treble winning success during Jose Mourinho’s reign, Sneijder has been receiving plenty affection from the Nerazzurri supporters and surely selling him might cause heavy disappointment for the fans. After last season’s failure in the Scudetto race along with problems in the coaching department, the sale of a fan favorite might enrages the fury of the faithful, considering the midfielder is still at a pretty young age.
