Transfer Updates

By all counts, Fiorentina have been the most active of all Serie A clubs so far. Not only have they appointed a new coach; Sinisa Mihajlovich, but they have also snapped up Celtic goalkeeper Atur Boruc and have reached an agreement with Liverpool to sign their Argentine full-back Emiliano Insua for 5 million Pounds.

The Viola finished last season in 11th place after dominating in the early stages of the Serie A  and their incoming coach Mihajlovich has made it his my aim to see the club finish in a top four position.

With Stefan Jovetic, Alberto Gilardino and Juan Vargas still in their ranks, i won’t be shocked if they reached that goal. I mean why shouldn’t they? They should us last season what playing as a team meant. The Viola made history when they qualified for the knockout stages of the Champions League.

I am afraid that the same cannot be said about the likes of Inter and Milan. For all the noise the Rossoneri are making, you would at least them to back it up with some action. I think Milan is the only club to have been linked with some of the games big profile players.

From Robinho to Fabiano to Dzeko to Podolski to Ibrahimovic all have been linked with a move to the San Siro. What is even more shocking, is the fact that the club want to dispose of some of their best talent.

Arch Rivals Inter Milan have not faired any better despite signing Castellazzi. Although many might argue that the current squad needs no improvement. It remains to be seen how they will cope should Maicon leave for Real Madrid.

With Rafael Benitez taking over as coach, the Nerazzurri might have to change their playing methods to suit the Spaniard’s preferences and as we all know that could spell doom. However, i don’t expect that to happen.

As the clock winds down on the transfer market, Serie A’s big clubs should at least show some intention to sign some good players.
