Coming out of a series of draws in the league that have left the Rossoneri 3 points off the title race, Milan coach Leonardo still believes that his side are still favourites to win the scudetto this season.
“Are Roma or Inter favourite to win the title? No, AC Milan is,” Leonardo said. “This is a strange season, every game is a challenge and there are many surprises. There are still seven games remaining and anything can happen.
“Inter have a squad that allows them to compete in several competitions. Roma are in great form but even though recent results have not gone our way, we have also shown we can deliver in the past. We now hope to get some players back to help us in our fight for the title” Leonardo said.
This might be a long shot for the Milan Giants but with the lukewarm form of all contenders, Leonardo may have a point. Now back to the news that caught my attention. Apparently AC Milan are ready to make a move for Liverpool striker Fernando Torres. Torres has been a long time target for Milan and the club is looking to make a move fr him this summer.
Torres is not a happy man at Liverpool and the club’s constant lack of silverware is said to be taking a toll on the Spanish international. Torres has revealed his desire to play in the Serie A and is even ready to take a pay cut to make his switch to Italian football a reality.
If everything goes well then the Rossoneri fans can expect a killer partnership of Torres and Pato in attack. Any hopes of acquiring Edin Dzeko the Wolfsburg striker have now taken a back seat as the club tries to lure one of the world’s deadliest strikers. As good as this news may sound, many will only believe it when Torres is officially presented as player at the Guiseppe Meazza Stadium.
