Ronaldinho’s hat-trick against Siena on Sunday helped Milan to a 4-0 demolition of the Serie A’s bottom club. I can now safely say that the Smile is back!
Not even when he was a player in Barcelona did Ronnie ever score a hat-trick. Unless maybe my memory might be playing tricks on me. However, Ronaldinho’s feat on Sunday has shown that the Brazilian still has the midas touch.
Ronaldinho could have had more but three seemed enough for him. Milan now warm up for the clash of the season against city rivals Inter Milan next weekend. When Ronaldinho made his debut in 2008, he scored his first goal against Inter. Kaka had a hand in that goal as he set him up for a header. Now Kaka isn’t around but Ronnie can pretty much do the job.
Ronaldinho is 4th in the top scorer’s list with 9 goals to his name. In his last 3 games Gaucho has managed to score an impressive 6 goals! Now isn’t that enough to get him back in the Brazilian national team? What more proof does Dunga need to include the two time world player of the year in his squad?
Milan have now cut the gap that Inter had over them to just 6 points and they have a game in hand. There must be some element of fear in the Inter camp ahead of their clash next Sunday. Mourinho must be a little bit anxious. Milan’s slow rise to the top has inspired a belief in the team that i thought would take ages to restore. After beating Juventus last weekend, they will be looking to crown that win with the thrashing of Inter.
That will be a hard match to call but i’ll go with my gut and predict a victory for Milan. Inter won this fixture back in September 4-0 and i am sure that Milan will want avenge that loss.
