The Next Nedved

Juventus are taking no hostages this season. The Bianconeri have bought some very impressive players and you need to be very worried if you are not a fan. Juve’s latest addition is Liverpool’s Alberto Aquilani on loan.

In total, Juventus have spent 47 million Euros on 8 players in this transfer window, however, half of them are on loan. Those on loan are Simone Pepe from Udinese, Davide Lanzafame from Palermo, Marco Motta from Udinese and Alberto Aquilani.

Leonardo Bonucci was the highest priced player costing the Old Lady 15.5 Million Euros, with Krasic coming in second at 15 million while Jorge Martinez cost Juve 12 million and Milan’s Marco Storari costing 4.5 million Euros.

Now, to be honest, the only player that i am keen on watching is Krasic. The Serb has attracted rave reviews across Europe and could be the spark that ignites Juve’s fizzled enthusiasm.

In fact, the 25 year old has been tipped to be the next Nedved. Any of you who watched Nedved play know that he was the heart of Juventus and his national team Czech Republic. However, Krasic may have an identical look but he will have to prove himself on the pitch.

Krasic signed a deal that will see him earn 2.5 million Euros with the Turin outfit for the next 5 years. Both clubs completed business late last week. Nedved made 244 appearances for Juventus scoring 51 times between 2001 and 2009.

Bought from Lazio for a whooping 41 million Euros to replace Zidane as play maker, Nedved was able to adapt and fill the void left by another of the club’s legends.

Nedved was just a few months short of his 30th birthday when he joined Juventus and yet he was still able to become one of the club’s iconic symbols. Krasic is 4 years younger than Nedved was when he joined and it is this youth that highly favours him to surpass what Nedved’s accomplishments.

It still is not known whether Krasic will feature in today’s friendly against Milan at the San Siro, however, Del Neri can be certain that he will be one of the club’s most lethal players this season.
