Juventus’ decision in letting Alessandro Del Piero by the end of season could seriously need re-evaluation, especially after the veteran once again provided an important goal for the Bianconeri.
Del Piero’s striker 10 minutes from time gave another three points for the Turin giant which once again helped them regained Serie A throne from Ac Milan, keeping their Scudetto dream on course this season.
Arriving in the second half when the score is still tight at 1-1 after Simone Pepe’s goal was canceled out by Stefano Mauri, Del Piero netted a smart free kick which surprised Lazio’a goal keeper, Federico Marchetti. The victory once again gave Antonio Conte’s side the upper hand in the scudetto race as they’re keeping their slender one point lead over Milan, while keeping their excellent undefeated run in tack this season.
Meanwhile, Lazio’s defeat doesn’t disturb their seat at third place since their closest rival, Udinese were beaten by another Champions League chaser, As Roma at Olympico. Goals from Pablo Osvaldo, Francesco Totti along with Marquinho, only replied once by Gelson Fernandes, putting Francesco Guidolin’s side back chasing the final Champions League spot along with As Roma, Napoli and Inter Milan.
Napoli themselves once again showed their tiredness after getting beaten 3-1 at home by Atalanta, it was their third defeats in a row, which simply gave their shot at chasing another Champions League spot gets tougher, especially if the players couldn’t find their spirit again. Walter Mazzarri’s team looked really out of sort recently as previously they conceded the same amount of goals against Juventus and also Lazio.
