Sevilla went on to show Antonio Alvarez the exit door just 5 games into the season and have now welcomed Gregorio Manzano as the new head-coach. After having been dealt a 2-0 loss by Hercules, Sevilla did not want to waste any more time as they decided to make some new changes.
With the Spanish club expecting big things this year, after losing to a newly promoted club and having had a terrible run in the Spanish Supercopa, they did not want to risk having the same coach that isn’t bringing in the results that they expect.
Manzano enjoyed some time as a coach for Real Mallorca but decided to leave the club. Leading Mallorca to a 5th place finish in La Liga, Manzano might have what it takes to make Sevilla a better team.
Although Sevilla may feel that Manzano may be the answer for their disappointments, their next opponents in league action will not be easy as Manzano’s first game with the club will be against Atletico Madrid on Sunday.
