This Picks of the Week segment is getting a little out of hand. When it started I thought I would be lucky to get half of the games right. Right now the Yank is an impressive 20-3 for the season. So look out Miss Cleo because I sense some more winning picks coming up this weekend.
Who will win this week? Let’s take a look.
This week’s theme is Away Teams. Usually considered a guarantee in the field of football predictions is picking the team with home field advantage. Not this week though.
In many of the matches the away team is simply the better of the two. That’s why I like Udinese to beat Napoli 3-1. Udinese has an explosive offense and with the club winning their first match of the season last week good things will come on the road. Another example of road dominance this upcoming weekend is Inter facing Cagliari. Inter should embarrass the squad 4-0 with their outstanding attack. Same with Lazio traveling to Catania. Lazio with Julio Cruz should win 2-0 over the struggling club.
Chievo Verona hosting unbeaten Genoa is another example of the road team being too strong for their host. Genoa will remain a perfect 4-0 after this one. And Palermo will go into Parma’s stadium and win their as well. Final score 1-0 Palermo. And the final road team that will win this weekend will be Fiorentina. Not only has the club been outstanding this year (2 wins, 1 draw), but they are playing Roma who has been less then great. Fiorentina takes this one 2-1.
As for the home teams that will not disappoint their fans, Juventus will easily win over Livorno 3-0. AC Milan will be too much for Bologna to handle in a 3-1 victory. Bari will edge out last place Atalanta 1-0. And Sampdoria will also remain perfect with a 3-0 victory over Siena.
