I have some bad news for you Serie A fans. Last weekend might have been the first hint at the beginning of the end to the Serie A season. Inter has begun their grueling pace of winning matches left and right and the powerhouse squad now has a seven point lead over the rest of the group table. New boys Livorno would be no match for the squad and Inter would cruise to a 2-0 victory with a Diego Milito (yes he is back ) goal.
Other powerhouses like Juventus would not have as much luck. Juve blew a 2-0 lead to Napoli and the result was a frustrating 3-2 loss. It was especially surprising because Juve allowed more goals then any other Serie A squad last weekend. Sampdoria could not do much better either. The squad suffered a draw against Bari’s tough defense. The final was 0-0.
AS Roma was able to be on the winning side once again. The up and down squad handed relegation bound Bologna another loss 2-1. AC Milan also continued their winning ways with a 2-0 win over Parma. Milan is now a top four squad and they have nearly erased their terrible start to the year. Cagliari was able to take advantage of an easy match against Atalanta. The squad won 3-0 over the fifteenth place team.
As for the rest of the Serie A matches: There were three more draws this weekend. Chievo Verona and Udinese tied 1-1, Siena and Lazio resulted in a 1-1 match, and Palermo and Genoa could not find the net in a 0-0 final. The last match of the week Fiorentina was able to handle struggling Catania another loss. Fiorentina won 3-1 over the nineteenth place squad.
