What an interesting week of Serie A football this last weekend and after this last week their are still a few unbeatens, but there are no teams left with a perfect record. Sampdoria can attest to this losing a mid-week match to drop them out of a tie for first place and a little bit back from Inter, but this weekend the SATO Most Improved squad candidate pulled off the unthinkable and beat Inter 1-0 at home. Inter had a brief lead on Cassano’s club, but with that critical win Sampdoria moves a few points ahead of the returning champs.
Fiorentina is also a strong club and proved so with a victory over new boys Livorno 1-0 as well. Lazio has been solid this season and they continued their campaign with a hard fought draw against Palermo 1-1. Juventus should be angry to walk away with a draw against Bologna. Why you ask? Well Juve was on their way to victory until Bologna sealed the draw with a 90th minute goal to tie up the match. Final score 1-1.
Cagliari handed Parma a home loss 2-0, Atalanta achieved a rare point with a road draw against Chievo Verona, Napoli would be victorious once again. This time they beat Siena 2-1. Udibnese handed Genoa another loss, 2-0, moving the club further away from the top of the league table. Milan was unable to find the back of the net against Bari in a 0-0 draw. And Roma was able to get the late tie on the road against Catania 1-1. Just like Bologna they achieved the draw courtesy of a 90 minute goal.
