SATO Serie A Top Performers

Juventus Defense

They say “defense wins championships” and just ask Juve keeper Buffon what he thinks of that saying.  The goalie is not only a World Cup winning keeper, but he is also arguably one of the best Serie A keepers of all-time.  Juventus is 4-0 after four weeks and the defense has only given up one goal this year.  That means Buffon already has three clean sheets in the net in four chances.  At that type of rate, the keeper might end up with 25 to 30 clean sheets this season if he plays in every match.

Alberto Diego Milito

With all the talk surrounding Samuel Eto’o this off-season Diego Milito’s move from Genoa seemed quite overlooked.  The forward is establishing himself as a potential Golden Boot winner at season’s end with consistent efforts every week.  Last week Milito would score twice against Cagliari in a close 2-1 road win.  Inter will hope to get more production out of the whole team in future matches, but Diego Milito’s output was critical to the powerful club last weekend.

Francesco Totti

One person that wasn’t a happy camper a few weeks back was Francesco Totti.  His Roma club embarrassed themselves early in the year with blowout defeats and the club’s manager was sacked for the dismal results.  But Totti showed off his excellent goal scoring ability against a tough club this weekend in Fiorentina.  Many thought Roma might crumble under the pressure of facing another tough opponent on their own pitch, but Totti knocked home two goals in the club’s 3-1 victory.  Roma is turning it around thanks to Totti.
