1) Napoli
In only their third straight season on the top flight, Napoli is proving to be a squad that is going nowhere. That is nowhere, but straight to the top of the division. In their debut season Napoli showed fans of Italian football that they deserved to be on the top flight earning an 8th place finish. Last year the squad suffered a minor Sophomore slump finishing the season in 12th place. But this season something has happened that nobody expected. Napoli is currently in fourth place and ahead of Roma and Fiorentina. The strong start is a collective team effort this season, but Marek Hamsik and Fabio Quagliarella are the two consistent scorers on the club. In fact the duo has made up for a combined fifteen goals this season.
2) Parma
Newboys are newboys and nearly every year you can guarantee at least one fresh team will be recycled for the likes of another new one in another year. But that hasn’t been the case this year in Serie A. in fact no new club is currently in the relegation zone and two are currently in the top ten slots in the league table. Parma is the best of the bunch currently in 8th place and scoring goals with regularity. As the season progresses it will get tougher, but for now Parma deserves to be praised.
3) Bari
In the same boat as Parma, Bari is the second best newboys so far this year and currently stare down a top ten finish. they say defense wins championships and relegation survival is as good as a title for any first year squad. Bari owns a strong defense that can contend with any team… new or experienced.
