SATO 2009 Serie A Awards: Closing Ceremony

                                                                                                                                                     And the 2008/2009 season has officially come to a conclusion with the finale of the closing ceremony.  Next summer around this time we will all be basking in the excitement of the 2010 World Cup.  But for now the only trophies being hoisted into the air are the legendary trophies being handed out at the SATO Cermonies. 

So thank you again for checking in with us month-to-month and please enjoy looking over the list once again to see who took home the Serie A League hardware this season.  And remember folks we are only a little over one month away from the 2009/2010 Serie A season, so football is on the way.   


Coach of the Year: Jose Mourinho of Inter                         

Best New Player & Club:  Diego Alberto Milito of Genoa  & Chievo

Dirtiest Player & Club:  Felipe Melo of Fiorentina & Torino

Most Disappointing Player & Club: D. Trezeguet of Juventus & AS Roma

Best Player 21 & Under: Pato of AC Milan

Best Team Player: Antonio Cassano of Sampdoria

Most Improved Player & Club: Marco Di Vaio of Bologna & Cagliari

Worst Club: Lecce & Reggina

League’s Biggest Baby: David Beckham of AC Milan

Best Defense: Juventus

Best Offense: AC Milan

Most Valuable Player: Zlatan Ibrahimovic of Inter

Best Club: Inter
