Ronaldinho To Make A Return To Brazil Squad

Brazilian ace Ronaldinho could make a surprise return to the Selecao squad for their upcoming friendly against Argentina. When questioned whether he would include Dinho in his squad for the friendly, Menezes left reporters guessing. However, he did not rule out calling up the 30 year old Milan forward.

“You’re not going to ask if I am going to call up Ronaldinho, are you? Let’s leave that for Friday,” Menezes teased the journalists.

Menezes is set to pick the squad that will face Argentina today. Also in for a call up is Santos starlet Neymar. Neymar was left out of Brazil’s last friendly match against 3–0 for indiscipline.

Traditionally, Brazil v Argentina fixture is always a huge match, however, in the recent past the Brazilians have gotten the best of the Argentinians winning 6 of their last 10 competitive fixtures.

Brazil’s most memorable win to date came in the 2007 friendly when the star studded samba boys crushed La Albiceleste the 3-0 with play maker Kaka scoring what is probably one of his best goals ever. A solo run from from end to end resulting in a sublime strike that could not be kept out by the beaten defenders.

Since Menezes took over from Dunga, he has totally restructured the team retuning the joga bonito style of play that was absent during Dunga’s reign. Menezes first decision was to call up stars Neymar and Ganso-players who were erroneously left out of the World Cup squad.

Should Menezes include Ronaldinho in his squad then he will have given fans a last chance to see one of the game’s most talented players doing what he loves best. Of course playing club football for big clubs like Barcelona, Real Madrid, AC Milan, Chelsea, Inter Milan is the dream of any aspiring footballer. However, there is no greater honour than representing your country.
