Ronaldinho Slowly Getting Back To Form

Milan’s superstar forward Ronaldinho is finally getting back to his old form that saw him win a host of awards. It was a case of when not how the Brazilian maestro would return to his  former self. Sunday seemed to be another good outing for the rossoneri as once agian the Brazilian pair of  Pato and ronnie linked up well to steal the win in Rome.

So far Pato is Milan’s leading goalscorer with his compatriot Ronaldinho following close behind. Gaucho is also Milan’s leading player with the most number of  assists this season. I really hope Dunga is watching Ronnie’s improving form and that he will consider giving him an opportunity to represent his country in next year’s FIFA World Cup in South Africa.

Many people still view Gaucho as the best player in the world and to many here in Africa a Brazilian squad without him is just simply not a team. When the Confederations cup tournament took place earlier on in the year, many people were excited at the prospect of  having such huge big nations like Brazil, Spain and Italy participating. It was good for African football.

However, the question i would often hear was if  Ronaldinho was in the squad. Many would be disappointed to find out that he did not even make the team. There is no doubt that the Confederations Cup was a successful tournament and that next year’s tournament would be the best.

Of geater importance though, is the role Milan coach Leonardo has played in Ronaldinho’s resurgence. Leonardo has given Ronaldinho the belief that he is still good. And in my opinion that is what has really helped him. They say the greatest desire for the human species is the need to feel appreciated. Leonardo has done just that even in the face of unbelievable criticism. He has stood by his player and reitorated that he is determined to help Ronaldinho succeed.

Milan are now third in the Serie A behind leaders Inter and second place Juventus. That should raise the red flags in Inter’s title hopes while also warning Juve that the race for the scudetto has now officially begun.
