It’s still only the fourth week of Serie A but tough times already arrived for Inter potential chasers, such as Juventus, Ac Milan and As Roma that haven’t light up the league as just yet.
Among those three teams, the Giallorossi could be the one having most problems as they once again suffered a defeat against Brescia this midweek.
Traveling to Stadio Rigamonti, Roma can still argue about the poor result they achieved as they were playing without many important first team players such as, Francesco Totti, Daniele De Rossi, Jon Arne Riise, Rodrigo Taddei and also Nicolas Burdisso.
Those absentees did prove costly as Marco Borriello’s second goal of the season still isn’t enough to cancel out the goals from Hetemaj and Andrea Caracciolo.
Aside from the result, more woes comes to Roma as on the game they also lost Phelipe Mexes who was controversially sent off after receiving his second yellow card on the game. Not only that, reports from the game also revealed that an injury could also occurred for their number one goal keeper, Julio Sergio, who was seen hobbling in the end of the match and might just fractured his leg.
Making things much more worse for Roma is the fact that they will meet Inter Milan this Saturday in the league in pretty much a direct battle between two Scudetto contenders which can decide the outcome of both teams future in the league. Surely with their current condition, on paper the capital side won’t stand a chance against the defending champion, however should they somehow can recover one or two important players they might have a shot.
With only four games that have been played, it’s still too early to judge how would the season ming ends up or Roma’s future this season as last season they also had a poor start in the league before having a strong finish in the end. Surely the match against Inter next weekend could be a very important turning point for Claudio Ranieri’s side as a win might change the whole complexion of the current season.
For now Ranieri along with his players should just try to forget the defeat against Brescia and focus themselves to give everything against the Nerazzurri as getting the three point from Inter might kick start their season. Although lots of evaluation must definitely be done by Roma after the poor showing they had at Rigamonti, especially regarding the physical condition of their keeper before concentrating fully for the upcoming match against Inter.
Meanwhile, as for Brescia the victory against Roma puts them joint second in the Serie A league table with Chievo after both teams earned 9 points from 4 games. Leading the table above those two minnows are the defending champion, Inter Milan with 10 points after grabbing a victory this midweek against Bari at San Siro.
