After failing to make the Brazilian World Cup squad, Adriano can find some respite in the news that Serie A runners up AS Roma are lining up a bid to bring him back Italy. Adriano who plays for Brazilian club Flamengo is famously remembered for quitting Inter last April after reports of his alcoholic nature emerged.
Even after leaving Inter, Adriano did not lose his scoring ability. He has so far scored 19 goals in 31 appearances for Flamengo and this led national team coach Dunga to include him in his squad’s friendly against the Republic of Ireland in March.
The Giallorosso are in a rush to sign Adriano who will be a free agent in the next couple of weeks and Roma boss Claudio Ranieri feels that Adriano has what it takes to resume playing at the highest level. I could not agree more. Adriano is one of the deadliest strikers in the world and he has the facts to back him up.
Adriano has Scored 27 goals in 48 appearances for the Selecao, this is not an easy feat by any chance. His club career also attests to his scoring prowess. However, even the Brazilian’s wage demands might see him miss out on this opportunity.
With a 4.5 million Euro annual wage for the muscular striker being proposed by his agent, Roma are having a hard time trying to negotiate for a decrease. That said, I think Adriano will be the perfect replacement for Luca Toni who is rumoured to be seeking a move away from the capital club.
