Being transfer listed by his club, Juventus, and hasn’t been given playing time since the start of new season, didn’t shut down clubs’ interest on Carvalho Amauri as after the likes of Fiorentina, Parma and Palermo, reports claimed that As Roma is also lurking.
Having already released Marco Borriello to the Bianconeri, Roma apparently lose Pablo Osvaldo due to injury, this condition forced them to look for another forward in the market and Amauri is among the candidates.
Having a pretty similar playing style as Osvaldo, which coach, Luis Enrique, apparently likened, Amauri’s chance in wearing the Giallorossi’s jersey in the summer is pretty huge, especially if the capital side are seriously interested. However, Fiorentina might provide a big challenge for Roma as they are also in need of an experienced striker after releasing Alberto Gilardino to Genoa this Janury, leaving their striking post pretty vacant at the moment.
Should Roma fails to land Amauri, they reportedly will try to get another Juventus frontman, Fabio Quagliarella, who is still not being considered first choice by the Bianconeri’s coach, Antonio Conte. However, it would be much more difficult in acquiring Quagliarella’s signature as although the striker is not a first choice but he remains part of Conte’s plan.
Of course, the fact that Roma also has another bargaining chip in David Pizzarro, who Juventus also after, the capital club might be in pole position in grabbing either one between Amauri or Quagliarella, with the former looked to be the most possible choice. Having already showing some improvement on their game, it would definitely be a shame if the Giallorossi take another set back because lacking of striker.
