Just a few days ago, Brazilian club Santos FC revealed that they were keen on resigning their former player Robinho. It seems like the comment from their president has sparked rumours that the AC Milan star could move back to his native Brazil.
Robinho who scored a brilliant goal (which was voted goal of the week) against Catania has come out to say that he intends to finish his career with the Italian giants.
Speaking to Italian daily Corrie dello Sport, Robinho was quoted as saying that he had found his home and that had found his home in Milan and that his major goal was to become a club legend.
“I’m happy to be an important player for Milan,” Robinho said.
“I’m really happy here. Boss Massimiliano Allegri knows how to get the best out of me and we play to score as many goals as possible. I want to stay here for the next 10 years.”
Milan who were yesterday held to a barren draw by Fiorentina, prepare to host Barcelona in a return Champions League fixture on Wednesday in what is expected to be a match between to of the most tournaments favourites.
The first match ended in a 2-2 draw with Milan scoring what is probably the fastest goal in the history of the tournament with just 23 secs on the clock. Barcelona come to the San Siro on the back of a 4-0 win over Zaragoza and confidence is high in the team camp ahead of the fixture.
The Catalan giants lead Group H with 10 points 2 ahead of Milan and although both teams have qualified, the match could determine who finishes top of the group and lands a ‘slightly easier’ opponent in the next stage.
Attention will definitely be drawn to the fixture and other key encounters in all groups as the competition nears a break for the next 2 months.
