According to the DailY Mail, Robin van Perise has refused to go o Arsenal’s pre-season tour of the Far East.
Arsenal had been adamant their van Persie will make the trip to Malaysia on Saturday, but he will now remain behind, which surely signals the beginning of the end of his Gunners career.
Arsenal are scheduled to play matches in Malaysia, China and Hong Kong over the next two weeks. They face a Malaysian XI on Tuesday in Kuala Lumpur, then head to Beijing to face Manchester City on 27 July. The Gunners finish their tour against Kitchee FC in Hong Kong on 29 July.
Van Persie will remain in England while his team-mates are away on tour, working on his fitness at Arsenal’s London Colney training base.
Arsene Wenger says that he wants a quick resolution to the Van Persie saga so he can either prepare for the new season with the Dutchman in his plans or have enough time to find a replacement and it appears that RVP wants the same.
Various reports have came out that both Manchester United and Manchester City and Juventus have made £15million bids for van Persie, and that Arsenal are holding out for at least £20m.
Expect higher bids over the weekend and both Manchester clubs try and get this wrapped up by the end of the month, Juventus don’t have the money to pay van Persie the type of wages he is looking for. Newspaper reports say that Sir Alex Ferguson is confident that he will land van Persie, but he thought the same last year with Nasri until City came in and offered him an extra £50,000-a-week wage package.
I expect the same thing to happen here. There have been rumours floating around that van Persie agreed to a £200,000-a-week deal with City in March. In the next week we will see if those rumours are true!!
Where do you think RVP will end up playing next season?
