Former Benfica midfielder/winger, Angel Di Maria, is making his way to Los Blancos as he went on to sign a 6 year deal where he will have the chance to play under one of the best coaches in the world, Jose Mourinho.
With Jose Mourinho looking to strengthen his squad ahead of the next season, he went on to pick up Angel Di Maria from Portuguese side Benfica, who is currently with Argentina in the World Cup. The fee has been estimated to be around 25 million euros for Real Madrid who have spent a massive amount of money last season to bring star players such as Kaka, Ronaldo, Xabi Alonso and Benzema.
The following was stated on Real Madrid’s official site :
“Real Madrid and Benfica have reached an agreement for the transfer of Angel di Maria. The player will sign a six-year contract with Real Madrid.”
Having won the leagues player of the year award last season, Di Maria is definitely a player on the rise and at only 22 years old is enjoying success even on the International level. Di Maria is happy to making the move to Los Blanco’s and is excited to have a chance to play with some of the best players in the world. Earning the respect of his Nations head-coach Diego Maradona, the expectations for Di Maria are high and will have a chance to learn a lot from experienced players and one of the best coaches in the world.
Although most of his focus is in the World Cup, Di Maria went on to say the following about his move to Madrid :
“It is an honour to know that Jose Mourinho wants to sign me. It will be very nice to play in the same team as Cristiano Ronaldo and many other stars, but for now I’m focused on the Argentina team.”
