Although Real Madrid started off the season slow with a draw against Mallorca, Los Blancos will be looking to bounce back from their disappointing start when they take on Osasuna in league action. With Jose Mourinho having to be without his best player in Cristiano Ronaldo, Madrid should still be able to pull off a win against Osasuna.
As for the Portuguese star, Ronaldo still feels confident in Madrid and believes they will be bringing in some silverware this season. Although the club did manage to get a staggering number of 96 points last season, it was still not enough to pass their rivals, Barcelona, as Los Blancos had to settle for 2nd place.
With Madrid having to train under new training methods since the arrival of Jose Mourinho, Ronaldo went on to say that he enjoys training under Mourinho and is confident in his ability to manager the club too some trophies this season.
Ronaldo went on to say the following about Mourinho and the upcoming season.
“The goal is always the same: to win. We have a very good team and I am sure that if we work hard and have a little luck then we will win a title or two this year. I will try to score as many goals as possible this year, but I will also provide assists and help in any way I can. Sometimes goals aren’t what count. I am always motivated and I want to win every game I play. I always have the same goal: to play well, help the team and win. I want to continue improving. I am a champion. I enjoy the pace of training sessions. I love the coach’s methods and I am sure that he will give us a good chance of winning. He is one of the best managers in the world and we will do everything in our power to win. Mourinho is a winner. I am very happy to work for him. I am sure we will win a title this year.”
The season has just got underway and although Madrid may have not been able to start the season strong against Mallorca, I find it amazing that people are seriously starting to question Mourinho. Yes, he has a boat-load of players to choose from to start but this doesn’t mean that the results will come over-night. Some people underestimate the power of chemistry within a team and sometimes you can have the best footballers in the world, but if they have no chemistry and can’t play well together, it will just be wasted talent on the team. I think, after a few games, Mourinho will start to know what to do with his line-up and once Kaka and Ronaldo both return to the squad, we would see a vast difference in the club.
