Pato’s Copa America Hopes Still Alive

Alexandre PatoAfter several early speculation appeared regarding Alexandre Pato’s recovery time, Ac Milan have finally made an official statement about their Brazilian starlet’s condition which not as bad as the early prediction.

According to the Rossoneri’s medical doctor, Gianluca Melegati, stated on the club’s official site that Pato won’t be facing any operation and his shoulder injury can be treated via rehabilitation program.

Complications were excluded, After a consultation with Professor Taverna, a shoulder specialist, it was decided not to intervene surgically. Pato will undergo a rehabilitation programme aimed at a full recovery in four to five weeks,” read an official statement from Milan’s official site.

Moreover, regarding the Brazilian striker’s possibility in playing in the upcoming Copa America, which will be staged in Argentina on July 1, Milan opens the chance for Pato to play in the tournament although they can’t really confirmed anything as just yet. The Rossoneri plans to evaluate the player’s condition along with the Brazilian medical staff just before the tournament start and if both parties agrees that the young striker can play, he will probably be included in the Copa America.

“The player’s participation in the Copa America will be re-evaluated between the Milan and Brazil medical staff at the end of June.”  read the statement on Milan’s site

Pato previously picked up an injury during Milan’s last match in Serie A against Udinese, the Brazilian starlet seems to fell in an awkward way as although the tackle made by Zapata on him wasn’t that hard, the youngster was in severe pain before being substituted in the end. Earlier verdict was that the former Internacional forward may need to rest for about a month plus recovery time that would definitely rules him out of the Copa America.

Surely Brazil national team fans would hope that the young striker can recover quickly and join the team for the upcoming tournament considering that Pato is an important player for the five time Wold Cup winner. As for the Milanisti the sooner their young idol recover would also be better as the striker can be fit right in time for the new season and won’t have to spent too many time getting his form back by the time Milan starts their journey in the summer.
