Brazilian teen sensation Neymar has made it clear that he intends to join EPL outfit Chelsea in 2011. This was one of the major transfer battles this summer and it appeared that Santos had emerged the winners after they Neymar’s wages to make him Brazil’s highest paid player.
Of course the reason why Neymar attracts so much attention is due to the fact that he the biggest talent to emerge from the South American giants after former team mate Robinho.
As hosts of the 2014 World Cup, Brazil are under pressure to make sure they do the only thing that has eluded them this far,and that is to win the tittle on home soil. Neymar ois expected to play an integral part in ensuring Brazil win a record 6th title.
Speaking to the Sun Neymar said that he has no issues with Santos however, he had made up his mind to move to Chelsea.
“It would be great to get the chance to play for Chelsea. I feel excited about it,”
“To play for Chelsea would be an honour. Everything they have to offer is attractive to me. They have big players, they are in big competitions, they have a strong squad and I like the way they play.
“Top players want to be part of something like that. I’m no different. But I’m happy at Santos. If I left it wouldn’t be because Santos isn’t a good place to be but only because the Premier League is a higher level. It wasn’t the right time for me to go in the summer but I will be much better prepared for it by next year.”
Of great concern to many Brazilians is whether this is the right time for Neymar to move away from Santos. Many can still remember what happened to the likes of Robinho and Kleberson and they are very skeptical that should he move, then Brazil can kiss their hopes of winning the World Cup goodbye.
Having already made up his mind, it will be hard to try and convince him otherwise all that Brazil can hope is that he is to display his immense talent regardless where he plays.
