New Season, Same Problems

Juventus were for the second time in less than a week held to a 3-3 draw, however  this time, it was in the Europa League. The first of these draws happened on Sunday against Sampdoria in Turin.

These two results coupled with Juve’s 1-0 loss to Bari on the opening day of the Serie A has left many fans clueless as to what the club’s problem could be. Luigi Del Neri has also conceded that his side is still yet to learn from last season’s mistakes.

“This result will make us reflect on what we did right and wrong,” “We were able to recover from bad situations, but then we lose concentration when we should be cruising to a win.

“The problems remain the same: not paying enough attention and security in what one is doing on the pitch. Tonight, I did not see a great quality in our opponent, but it was our errors from not concentrating hard enough.”

With a tough away match to Udinese tomorrow, Juve’s problem could be further compounded if they fail to get a positive result. As much as i hate to admit it, may be Luciano Moggi was right. Moggi was very outspoken against the purchases Juventus made this summer stating that they were not what the team really needed.

Again fan unrest is now emerging with many claiming hat Del Neri was never the right man for the job. To be honest, Aside from Krasic, all the other summer signings have not impressed me. Bonucci, Aquilani, Pepe? Definitely not my choice for a title challenging team.

Juventus failed to make proper preparations for the season. With Buffon out  until January, Juuventus should have bolstered their defense with some very talented players. Again losing Camoranesi and Qualiarela definitely dented their striking impact.

Tomorrow’s match against Udinese will be the litmus test for the Bianconeri, Anything other than a win and fan protests will go a notch higher.
