Following the arrival of Jose Mourinho from Inter Milan, most fans would have thought that Karim Benzema was going to be shown the exit door. However, the Portuguese coach has yet to give up on the former Lyon striker as Benzema is still trying to find his best form since his arrival to the Bernabeu.
Although Benzema is slowly starting earn more playing time with Los Blancos, Mourinho hopes that the French striker learns to be more of a team player and continues to grow and find a spot within the team.
Mourinho went on to say the following on FIFA’s official website:
“Karim has to understand that he’s not playing by himself, that he has to be more of a team player and work really hard, especially in training. He’s doing just that and I’m pleased to see how his attitude has changed. He’s starting to get the level of involvement that he deserves. I expect a lot from him, I want him to be as good as or better than the player I first saw at Lyon. I know how gifted he is and that’s why I push him.”
However, with the way that Madrid has been shutting down opponents and their attacking looking extremely strong, Benzema is finding little opportunity to make a huge impact on the squad. Only time will tell if Karim will be able to prove himself to the club and show his worth.
