Jose Mourinho hasn’t even gotten to the mid-way point of the La Liga season but has went on to say that he would gladly take-over some of the top clubs in the Barclay’s Premier League but Liverpool not being one of them. Although no one is really jumping the again and expecting Mourinho to leave Madrid just after one season, especially that he is still preparing for the season ahead, it was interesting to hear Mourinho go on about the possibility of taking over some of the best clubs in the Premier League
So which club’s did Mourinho say he would be gladly take-over ?
One of the best 3 clubs in the league, as he said he wouldn’t mind taking over the manager position at Manchester United, Chelsea or Arsenal. Although Mourinho has questioned in going back to the Premier League before, it seems that a move to any of these clubs he would welcome but will never be able to take over Liverpool.
“Manchester United would be a great challenge for me. But Liverpool is not the club for me. I know why, but I cannot tell you. Tottenham, Everton… Arsenal maybe. These are all fine clubs with very good managers. You can dream of what happens in one, two, three or four years. Who knows? I cannot say, but I think you have an idea of what I think about. I had a dream about being the manager of Real Madrid. It has come true. For me that is incredible. My ambition is success and I wanted to manage Real Madrid. I have no plans to leave. I have only just arrived. There is much work to be done. I do not know how long it will take. But I give my commitment to Real Madrid and we will see. Nothing is forever. But I have to commit. I can’t say Real Madrid one season, Manchester United, Liverpool the next, Barcelona after that. But I like England very much. I have many good friends there.” Jose Mourinho went on to say to the Daily Mirror.
Although it is a bit of a stretch to say that Mourinho is thinking about leaving soon, you also can’t blame him for admitting that he will welcome a chance to coach one of these clubs. However, one club that I was surprised to hear Mourinho say he will coach is Chelsea. In the past Mourinho went on to say that he will most likely not be looking to to return to Stamford Bridge, but I guess his feelings has changed as he realized he still has many friends at the club.
Jose Mourinho continued with the following :
“Many of the Chelsea players are still good friends of mine and I always watch for their results and progress. They are doing well. Ancelotti is a fine coach and that is good for the club because they are a great club with many, many nice people. I am careful what I say and what I think. For me it might be impossible. I don’t know. I am not saying I would not like to. Who knows? Football is strange and beautiful at the same time.”
Think Jose Mourinho will be leaving Madrid after he is able to bring some more silverware to the club ? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments section below.
