Jose Mourinho has one very special “big signing” already lined up this January. And the good news for the Special One is that the transfer target already is contracted by Real Madrid. Kaka has had a difficult time since the World Cup ended and you can chalk up the Brazilian’s name with a long list of injured Cup stars including Arjen Robben, Wesley Sneijder, and Wayne Rooney this season.
But Kaka’s four month layoff is nearly over (the attacking midfielder had surgery in August) and considering he should be back by late December early January, I’d say that Mourinho has the right state of mind for dealing with the star’s arrival back to the club.
Mourinho announced his “big signing” to FIFA.com earlier this week:
Our big signing in the winter window will be Kaka. He’ll be a fantastic boost for us. How many clubs can sign a Kaka in January? There are no players of his caliber on the market.
And Mourinho has a valid point that nobody out there will be willing to deal a player that has accomplished as much as Kaka has. The only question out there is will the Brazilian’s offensive minded attitude blend well with a renowned defensive minded coach? Kaka’s long layoff came at a difficult time considering their new coach is just getting comfortable with the lineup and the tactics, but Mourinho is a smart enough guy that I think he will be able to use the former AC Milan man to his advantage.
Several rumors of course have Kaka heading back to Serie A this January and even back to Milan where his father and agent has many old friends, but I doubt the deal will ever finalize before the end of the season. Mourinho will need more depth as the season progresses and Kaka will provide him with some offensive talent late in the season. Who knows Kaka might even turn into that final weapon the Special One has been pining for.
