Milito To Miss Champions League Clash Due To Injury

Diego Milito 2010Inter Milan once again set their wings flying high in the Serie A especially after picking another important victory against a strong side, As Roma, last weekend.

However, their latest 5-3 victory over the Giallorossi once again bring a pretty bad news as the latest reports suggested that Diego Milito, who actually played from the bench on the game has picked up another injury which will left him out of the Champions League encounter.

According to the news in Italy, Milito suffered a muscle injury that would probably see him being sidelined for about 30-40 days which definitely rules him out from the important European clash with German heavyweights, Bayern Muenchen. Although the Argentinian international hasn’t been performing well this season, the fact that Inter won’t be able to play their new signing, Giampaolo Pazzini, in that competition could left the Nerazzurri with little option up front.

Having only Samuel Eto’o and Goran Pandev as their experience front players to play a two leg games against Bayern would be a risky thing indeed especially since Inter also have tough matches in the league which require some rotation to keep their squad fresh. Milito’s absence could really be felt at least in Europe where experience usually counts as an important factor in winning important games against such difficult opponents.

Aside from shortening the option for Inter’s front line, this injury could actually mean more for Milito’s future as the Argentinian international hasn’t really manage to perform like last season where the striker become an important act for the club’s success. Having been hampered with plenty of injuries and performing below his standard this season, the player may not have plenty of time to redeem his poor form this season which could led to a bleak future at the Nerazzurri especially if Pazzini can keep on performing well.
