With only an official announcement missing, it looks like the new step and adventure is set to begin for Marco Amelia, the 2006 World Cup winner goalie as he will soon be confirmed as the new Ac Milan’s goal keeper. Reports from Italy has revealed that Amelia has pass the medical test and pretty much wrapped up all the documents needed, so in just a few hour, his name would probably pop up on Milan’s official site saluting his arrival.
Although the Roma junior product’s arrival is only on a loan deal, but surely if he manage to impress next season the possibility of his contract becomes permanent is on the cards as he’s not actually having a good relationship with Genoa’s coach last season. Some fans might still questioned Amelia’s signing especially the fact that he hasn’t had a good season in the past 2 years, but not long ago he’s pretty much the most wanted young keeper in Serie A, I believe the talent is still there and if he rediscovered it at San Siro, than Milan might have just made an awesome deal.
Moreover, the 28-years-old keeper’s arrival at Milan might just be the start of the club’s youth policy that was being promised by the Rossoneri’s management a while ago. 28 maybe not a relatively a young age, but for keeper that number can be considered as one, because many great goalie starts finding their form at pretty much around 28-20 plus. Not only that, the former Livorno keeper is actually the youngest keeper that Milan have purchased in quite sometime now, surely fans can really hope that this is the sign that the new policy is indeed being programmed and heading the right direction.
With a new young keeper, I believe Milan’s management will keep their promise on integrating youngsters into the squad, talented youth like Rodney Strasser, Oduamadi and Simone Verdi are being prepared to play with the first team next season. Not to mention the Rossoneri’s plan on buying some more new talents to replace the old guards that have been warming the team’s bench and haven’t been productive such as Oddo, Kaladze, Favalli, Jankulovski and maybe some more. It will definitely be interesting in seeing where does the Diavollo Rosso goes with all of their summer plan, as the promise as been stated and fans are eager to see it fulfilled.
Meanwhile, despite being signed as the new keeper, there’s still many questions looming on would Amelia be the new keeper or not, as Milan will actually be loosing two maybe three keepers this summer, Dida and Roma who are out of contract and Marco Storari who is set to join Juventus. Certainly the decision will rely on Allegri’s decision, and the ex-Genoa shot stopper effort in convincing the soon to be Rossoneri’s coach, the 28-years-old himself refuse to comment about anything and just want to let everything flows as he’s more than happy joining the Italian giant.
