After a positive start to the 2009/2010 Italian Serie A season, AC Milan’s recent form has dipped considerably. A 4-0 home loss to arch rivals inter and a barren draw away to Livorno has left the rossoneri in 8th place on the table with 4 points from 3 games and with more fixtures being played later on Sunday, the possibility of slipping further down the table is very much alive.
Things are not much easier for Coach Leonardo and his team as they prepare to face Olympique Marseille in a tricky Champions League away tie on Tuesday. The French club is currently enjoying a stellar start in ligue 1.
Milan has to win to hush the concerns of their disgruntled fans and to stamp their authority as one of the most successful clubs in Europe.
Meanwhile in Spain, former Milan playmaker and club hero Kaka’ helped his new club Real Madrid to a comfortable 3-0 win over Espanyol with the Brazilian setting up team-mate Esteban Granero twice.
However, this is bound to leave Milan fans with a bitter taste in their mouth many of whom felt cheated with the sale of their most prized asset. Protests are bound to continue and Kaka’ can expect to receive a cold reception at the San Siro when the ‘merengues’ meet the rossoneri later in the year.
