Milan’s Costly Friendly

AC MilanAc Milan successfully won their winter break friendly game against Al Ahly, however the Rossoneri could get into more trouble because of the match after one of their star striker, Robinho, went off injured during the match.

The Brazilian star, accidentally run himself into a camera that oddly placed in the sideline and reportedly hurt his knee, although reports suggested it might not be that serious but ther are concern that he might be absent in Milan’s upcoming league match against Cagliari.

Considering the match will be done on January 6, there’s always a possibility that Robinho wont be fit enough to play on that game as it’s already around the corner and with Ibrahimovic suspended, Milan looks to be short of options up front. Should the Brazilian striker isn’t fit enough to play, Massimiliano Allegri might be forced to play a new partnership of Antonio Cassano and Alexandre Pato up front, despite both players’ condition aren’t 100% as just yet.

Cassano and Pato did partnered themselves in the first period of the friendly match against Al Ahly and showed some flashes of brilliance but still the evidence of their unfit conditions are pretty much seen in that game. However, there are still few days left that can be maximize by the two to prepare their fitness so they can be in a much more better shape coming into the game. Surely it might be nice also for Allegri if the next few days, Robinho can also recover from his current injury and be fit enough to play.

Another options that can be considered by the Rossoneri for their upcoming league match against Cagliari is playing their young primavera player, Giacomo Beretta, who scored a goal in the friendly match and player reasonably well for an 18-years-old kid. Surely it’s a much more risky option compared to fielding two unfit superstars, but considering the current problems that Milan have, anything could actually possible as any combo being picked would still put the Rossoneri under a serious task as they will be playing without Ibrahimovic, Pirlo, Flamini and Boateng.

With the current injury problems that Milan are having, the match against Cagliari on January 6, will be a much more difficult affair for Allegri’s team despite the fact that the coach spend two seasons with the Sardinian side. This kind of condition is what probably inspired the rumors of the Rossoneri’s possibility in signing another striker despite already acquiring Cassano’s service which will be officially announced not long from now.
