AC Milan failed to capitalise on Inter’s draw as they were also held to a 1-1 draw by Napoli at the Guiseppe Meazza stadium yesterday. Inter still remain 1 point ahead of the Rossoneri despite their draw away to Palermo on Saturday night. Milan striker Filipo Inzaghi equalised in the 25th minute to ensure that the Rossoneri do not lose sight of league leaders Inter Milan.
Ronaldinho improved on his stats as he turned provider for ‘Pipo’ midway through the first half. The Brazilian skillfully lobed the ball into the penalty area and Inzaghi was the first to respond with a header that beat the Napoli keeper. Dinho now has 13 assists to his name and is Milan’s second top scorer with 9 goals.
Meanwhile, Juventus were beaten 1-0 by Sampdoria yesterday to add on to their woes. The Bianconeri were humiliated last Thursday by Fulham who beat them 4-1 at Craven Cottage to knock them out of the Europa league. Juve’s only realistic goal will be for them to finish in a top four spot. This will grant them the opportunity to play in the Champions League.
As things heat up between the top three Inter, Milan and Roma, Juventus can only hope to finish their season in 4th place. How i long for the day when the Serie A will be the league that all admire.
