Ac Milan’s Scudetto anticipation by bringing all of their squad members minus Marek Jankulovski, who’s having an operation, went as sweet as possible after the Rossoneri sealed the title by getting a precious draw against As Roma at Olympico.
Although the result may not be pretty but Massimiliano Allegri’s team simply doing what they needed to do against the capital club, who are looking very hungry for three points especially in the first half.
Playing away in a tough atmosphere, Milan actually looked a little bit nervous in the first half as they uncharacteristically gave away several goal scoring chances for the home team, although overall the Rossoneri still dominate the possession very well. However, the spirit of ending their seven years domestic league title seemed to capture the heart of the Red and Black squad players in the second half, as they played a much better game.
Not only managed to create several great goal scoring chances, Milan just simply controlling the match in the second period as Roma barely had a sniff at Christian Abbiati’s goal. Despite dominating, the Rossoneri players still looked tense throughout the second period and they seemed much more eager to finish the game as soon as possible rather than chasing the winning goal.
After an almost five minutes extra time that extended the agony for Milan and their fans, an eruption of joy was visible after referee Morganti blew the final whistle, earning a warm hug from the Rossoneri midfielder, Mark Van Bommel. Soon after that, the Olympico stadium simply turned into a fiesta park for the Red and Black squad as they embraced some of their traveling fans, partying until late in the night which simply shown the happiness their feeling after the long wait.
Not only the joy felt by the players and managerial staffs that made the trip to Rome, Milan’s president, Silvio Berlusconi, also feeling the excitement as he once again retaliated his plan in giving more ‘gifts’ for the fans next season. A promise that surely bring calmness for the Milanisti as their dream in seeing the Rossoneri starting another winning era looks to be happening indeed with the 18 Scudetto this season as the stepping stone.
The Scudetto has finally returned to the red and black side of San Siro “At the end of the day, I think the title is deserved. We made important signings and have a competitive squad, but all this doesn’t come cheap. You cannot win in football without spending a lot of money,” Berlusconi said. “Do I have some more gifts for the fans over the summer? Yes, hopefully the transfer market will allow me to do that for the supporters.”
