Mazzarri Switching For Bigger Thing In the Summer?

A successful campaign usually always opens up a path for a bigger step, this is something that could happen for current Napoli coach, Walter Mazzari, who so far has successfully brought Napoli competing in the top of serie A until today. Reports have been buzzing in Italy that Mazzari has suddenly becomes the firm favorite to take the role in coaching one troubled big Serie A team, Juventus, replacing Luigi Del Neri that would be boot out next summer.

Although the rumors have been circulating in the last few weeks but things got heated in the press after Napoli’s president, Aurelio De Laurentis, stated that he won’t force Mazzari to stay next summer if the tactician does had his mind in the Juve’s offer. However, De Laurentis do hope that his coach will stick around and continues’ the club’s project but the patron once again confirmed that if the former Sampdoria coach leaves, the Partenopei won’t have problems in looking for a replacement.

Mazzarri is in my heart. I would let him go only if he came to tell me that he no longer feels at ease in Naples and that he is no longer working well, at which point I’d consider alternatives. There are many, De Laurentis stated. “But we are putting together a project to build a great team. I don’t believe that he will betray us.”

Meanwhile, Mazzarri himself didn’t denied or approved the rumor about him being a strong candidate in taking over Juventus next summer, as the tactician opted to play down all of the media’s attention by saying that he won’t answer the rumors until the season ends. Moreover, the additional statement saying that despite his good relationship with Napoli, in the end of the season there will always be some contract discussion with his current club, isn’t really making the press backs off their initial reports.

I don’t listen to rumours when the season is still in course. Regarding the clubs who are following me, I have simply thanked them, it’s a reason to be proud It’s normal that at the end of the season we’ll sit around a table and draw out the guidelines regardless of the contracts, Mazzari said.

Although Napoli are set to take part in the Champions League next season, especially with their current position in the league, Mazzarri’s chance in leaving them for Juventus next season is still very big as for many coaches getting the chance to coach a big team like Juve is a challenge. Should one succeed in handling a locally prestigious club such as the Bianconeri, his coaching status will surely take further recognition.

Surely it’s interesting to see whether Mazzarri will leave Napoli that he has turned into a very competitive side this season, although the Partenopei are still inconsistent at times but their ability to keep on chasing Ac Milan and Inter in the table are a great achievement. Should the Southern Italian side does get into the Champions League competition, it would definitely be difficult for them to keep competing if they have to change system again. So, the choices are pretty much intriguing for the former Sampdoria coach, but the answer can only be found in the summer, whether the tactician goes for a new bigger challenge or continuing the project that he has already take part in.
