Massive Clear Out At Man City This Summer?

tevezRegardless of whether then retain their Premier League title this year, it appears that this will be a summer of upheaval at the Etihad Stadium.

According to Sunday’s Daily Mail, Carlos Tevez, Edin Dzeko, Samir Nasri, Joleon Lescott, Scott Sinclair, Aleksandar Kolarov and Maicon will all be allowed to leave Eastlands this summer.

The big name on the list is Carlos Tevez, but as he enters the last 18 months of his contract, City have no inclination to give him a new deal. Roberto Mancini and City’s owners have not forgotten how Tevez walked out on the club last season and City will try and recoup some of the money they invested in Tevez by selling him this season.

Dzeko and Nasri have not justified their huge transfer fees or wages, and Inter Milan have already opened talks with City about signing Dzeko in the summer.

Lescott, like Tevez has less than 18 months on his current deal, and City are not interested in giving the England defender a new deal.

Two other England players whose City careers are in the balance are Gareth Barry and James Milner. Barry, who will be 32 later this month, will also enter the final year of his contract next season, while Milner cannot hold down a regular spot in the City line-up.

When you add to this list, the likes of Wayne Bridge and Roque Santa Cruz, on loan at Brighton and Malaga respectively, plus Kolo Toure Richard Wright who will all leave this summer, then City could be looking to potentially replace almost half their 25-man Premier League squad this summer.
