Champions Manchester City beat Queens Park Rangers 3-1 to continue their unbeaten start to the season, while Andre Vilas-Boas is still waiting for his first win as Tottenham Hotspur manager after Spurs were held to another 1-1 draw.
The Champions went ahead via a Yaya Touré first-half goal, but despite dominating the game City were not able to add a second and QPR punished then for that when Bobby Zamora nodded in a surprise second-half equaliser. But Edin Džeko immediately headed in Carlos Tévez’s cross to make it 2-1 and then Tévez got his 50th league goal for City in added time.
In contrast, André Villas-Boas is yet to see his Tottenham Hotspur FC team record a victory. As last week, Spurs were held 1-1, with a late goal again proving their undoing. New signing Moussa Dembélé scored on his Tottenham debut, but Robert Snodgrass’s late goal gave Norwich a deserved share of the points. The AVB honeymoon appears to be over at Spurs, as the team were booed of the pitch at half-time and full-time.
Andy Carroll was unplayable as West Ham United beat Fulham 3-0, setting up goals for Kevin Nolan and Matt Taylor with Winston Reid’s header contributing to the rout.
Carroll eventually limped off with a hamstring injury which later prompted his withdrawal from England’s squad for their opening World Cup qualifiers against Moldova and Ukraine next week.
The surprise team in the Premier League has to West Brom who beat Everton 2-0 today. The win sees West Brom move up to third in the table after an unbeaten start to the season., Shane Long opening the scoring after meeting a superb cross from Peter Odemwingie, who had just stepped off the bench. Gareth McAuley then added the second following poor defending at a corner from Everton to reward the Baggies’ dominance at the Hawthorns.
New signing Steven Fletcher scored twice but Sunderland were still forced to settle for a 2-2 draw with Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium.
Finally, Peter Crouch nodded home from close range as Stoke came from behind twice to draw 2-2 with Wigan Athletic at the DW Stadium.
