Major League Soccer Finally Releases Schedule

Finally the 2008 schedule has each of the 14 teams playing 30 regular season games. The 2008 season concludes on Sunday, Nov. 23 with MLS Cup 2008, live on ABC and TeleFutura from The Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif., at 3:30 p.m. ET.

Out of the 210 regular season games, 113 of them will be broadcast nationally. That is a major coupe for MLS. In order to build a mainstream fan base, fans need to be watch games and this schedule offers this opportunity.

Each team will play each other twice (home and away), for 26 games. As expected the LA Galaxy and David Beckham will be featured on this seasons TV schedule. Of the Galaxy’s 30 games in 2008, 20 will be able to be seen on the league’s national broadcast partners, ABC/ESPN, Fox Soccer Channel, HDNet and TeleFutura. Highlighting the Galaxy’s matches on national television is their visit to RFK Stadium on June 29 to play D.C. United. This match will be shown live at 9 a.m. (PT) on ABC as part of a doubleheader which also features the Euro 2008 Final live from Vienna, Austria.
