In a couple of days, the winter transfer window will open amid a flurry of activity. With most clubs seeking to strengthen their squads for the remaining half of the season, a few will be looking to offload their most prized players.
It is no secret that Tevez is on his way out of Manchester City, however another very shocking report is that of Brazilian midfielder Kaka. Reports emerging from the club suggest that they are willing to sell Kaka if they asking price of £22 million can be met.
Kaka joined Real from Milan in the summer of 2009 for a £55 million and together with Cristiano who joined a few weeks later for a record £90 million, the pair were the second generation of the famed Galacticos era.
However, a series injuries and a falling out with coach Jose Mourinho has seen the play maker struggle to replicate his sublime Milan form. Now sources from Madrid suggest that the club is willing to sell the 29 year old.
“Kaka has always interested other clubs and Mourinho has decided that he has far better options in midfield so the best thing to do is to move him on,” a Madrid source said.
“There has been no concrete offer but it is now known that the club would accept an offer in the region of £22 million.”
So what are Kaka’s options? Well, a number of clubs have shown an interest in him including: Chelsea, PSG and AC Milan. However, of all these, Chelsea looks the most promising as they have the financial backing to meet Madrid’s demands.
PSG who have opted not to pursue Tevez could now shift all their focus to signing Kaka and according to the club’s sporting director Leonardo, money is not the problem.
Milan on the other side are entertaining the possibility of landing their former club icon with President Silvio Berlusconi maintaining that “There is always a place at the San Siro for a 100% Milanista.”
A January move for the Brazilian is very possible, however, his destination is not known. It will be interesting to see how this transfer plays out, however, i know like myself, many people are hoping for Kaka to make a dream comeback to Milan.
