Madrid And Barcelona Record Wins To Keep Title Campaigns On Course

The Spanish La Liga season is not yet even half way done however, the title race is already billing up to be one of the most tightest in recent history. Both Real Madrid and Barcelona are not letting up in their pursuit for the top prize with Los Blancos responding to Barcelona’s 8-0 thrashing of Almeria by beating Athletic Bilbao 5-1 with star player Cristiano Ronaldo grabbing a hat-trick of his own.

The rivalry between Messi and Ronaldo just got turned up a notch higher with the Portuguese firmly replying by grabbing his own hat trick after Messi scored three against a hapless Almeria on Saturday night.

The Blaugrana are now just a point below Madrid in the La Liga standings on 31 points. Both players also lead the top scorer list with Ronaldo on 14 goals and Messi on 13 goals. There is very little to separate these players and it will be exciting to see how both teams fair when they meet in the clasico on the 29 th of November at the Nou Camp.

Back in action after uncertainty over his future, Bojan Krikic also grabbed a brace in Barca’s mauling of Almeria. However, the night was not so good for new coach Juan Manuel Lilo who in received the worst possible result in his first competitive fixture as coach.

Speaking about his performance, Bojan was visibly happy to return to scoring ways.

“I know I am true to this team and I took my chance in a match where we were clearly superior,”

“When you are winning you want to score more goals and improve the outcome.”

The only question is who will win on November 29th. Will it Be Messi Or Ronaldo. Because which ever team carries the day, will be closer to winning the league.
