1) Lionel Messi- Barcelona
Any list that Messi can be on, he will likely be on the top of. And assists is no exception to the rule. Barcelona has the most potent offense of any club in the entire world and Lionel Messi is a big part of the reason why. The Argentine forward can pass the ball, shoot the ball, and dribble the ball. And did I mention he can score. Right now Messi is tied for a joint-lead in assists with seven.
2) Perdo Alvariz Munitis- Racing Santander
Munitis deserves credit for being tied with Lionel Messi and playing on a regular offense that does not possess the freaks that are at Camp Nou. And although Munitis is not well known he has shown a knack for setting up goals over the last few seasons. Last year the secondary striker set up ten goals and this year he already has set up seven.
3) Xavi- Barcelona
Xavi is a great midfielder and one of those guys that is renowned for feeding the ball perfectly to the strikers up top. He trails Messi by only one assist and could easily make up that ground with an impressive game soon. Especially if he feeds the ball to Messi. That way Messi could beat himself at his own game.
4) Ever Banega- Valencia
Young Benega is right in the mix as well this season only trailing the leaders by one assist. The twenty one year old has proven to be a consistent player for Valencia and could finish the season at the top of the list.
