For those of you who do not know what the silver fox is, it is a term used to describe an older gentleman that still is on the top of his game.  For example Brett Favre is often referred to as the silver fox of the NFL.  This list is of the La Liga players that have impressed so far this year despite being over 34 years of age.

1) Andres Palop/Sevilla

Well it hasn’t been the ideal start to the 2009/2010 season that Palop and Sevilla would have liked see, but on the other hand the top four squad isn’t out of the race yet and there still is a lot of football to be played.  Palop in the net will give Sevilla as good a chance as they can get at achieving their usual Champions League status.  Unfortunately for Palop though, he is from Spain and will see no action this summer in South Africa.  Simply because he is from the toughest country in the world to achieve World Cup roster status between the posts.

2) Pedro Alvarez Munitis/Racing Santander

Not often can a forward make the cut without scoring a single goal this season, but Munitis does in fact make the cut due to his excellent ability to dish the ball at the perfect time.  The forward has six assists this season which is in a joint lead for the league’s best with Lionel Messi.  And that is a good name to be next to in any statistic.  Munitis will gladly accept the honor.
