LLTO Matches of the Week (Nov 28-29)

Barcelona-Real Madrid

Zoinks!  That all you can say when you see these two names on paper right next to one another.  This one is for all the marbles, winner take all, take no prisoners, blood, sweat, and tears and in other words….this one is for all the sport’s metaphors.  Number one hosts number two in a game of history, tradition, and title hopes.  One of these two squads will walk away with the La Liga title at year’s end and these two matches may decide who exactly that is.  Cristiano Ronaldo is back just in time for the match and Lionel Messi is injured just in time to miss it.  Advantage Real Madrid.  But the game will be played in Barca’s Camp Nou and the treble winners from last season have a much more complete team then the off-and-on los galicticos.  Advantage Barcelona.

Final Prediction: Barcelona 3-1

Two top six squads will face off this weekend as number four, Valencia, hosts number six, Mallorca.  Valencia has climbed up the boards recently with an unbelievable unbeaten streak that dates as far back as their loss to Getafe in late September.  All together it is a twelve game streak and David Villa and Company are beginning to click as of an offense all though with the transfer window looming it may only be temporary.  Mallorca, on the other hand, may not have the type of streak put together that Valencia is enjoying, but the squad did give Barcelona a good game a few weeks back (they lost 4-2) and the club can never be considered out of it until the final whistle is blown.

Final Prediction: Valencia 2-0
