LLTO La Liga Top Performers

Gonzalo Higuain

With Cristiano Ronaldo out for the last few months, Gonzalo Higuain became one of those reliable guys that helped pick up the slack with the key player off of the pitch.  Higuain continued that tradition last weekend against Racing Santander with the lone goal of the match.  The twenty one year old has five league goals so far this season and two Champions League goals as well.  One of those two goals came on Wednesday against F.C. Zurich which was also Ronaldo’s first game back from that ankle injury.

Gonzalo Castro

It was the day of the Gonzalo’s as Mr. Castro joins Mr. Higuain in the circle of top performers for the week.  Castro of the Mallorca squad scored two goals in the match against Almeria as his top six squad continued to turn heads last weekend.  The double goal game was the first two goals of the year for the midfielder, but the squad is in great shape heading into this weekend’s critical match against Valencia.

Honorato da Silva Nilmar

The twenty five year old Nilmar has struggled to find the net at times this season for the Yellow Submarines and that has kind of summed up Vilarreal’s disappointing efforts of past matches.  But the squad has begun to pick up steam recently and last weekend Honorato and Giuseppe Rossi both showed signs of awakening from their summer slumber by both scoring goals against Valladolid.  Honarato scored two of the three though and I am sure the squad is relying on the striker to come up with some more efforts like the one he had over last weekend.
